Everything aquarium related that I own is for sale.
I'm selling for two reasons.

#1. I've got a son now, and I need to shift my limited balance of time to spend more time being a dad.

#2. I left on a trip for 3 days, and came back to a tank that had no power for almost 2 of those 3 days... Turns out my land-lord wanted to do some electrical work in the duplex unit above me while I was gone... He made sure he left the breaker for my refrigerator on... but turned off and left off everything else while he was working... How nice of him to remember the refrigerator, God forbid I would have had a 1/2gal of milk and a brick of cheese spoil... The little bit of livestock that survived has all ready been re-homed.

Here is my TOTM thread. Check it out for lots of pics of everything.

viewtopic.php?f=43&t=643&view=previous

This includes everything you see in the pictures in the TOTM thread that isn't a coral/fish/shrimp.

The tank is all up and running, so you can come see for yourself that there is not so much as a drip in any of the plumbing or parts or tank etc.

I've got right around 250#'s of live rock, with most of it being in the sump/fuge tanks below.

Custom starphire 1/2" glass tank and custom stand. (see TOTM thread for details)
Custom VFD controlled Barracuda pump setup (only one in the world maybe?)
Dart pump

Stuff you don't see in the pics that is also included:

An extra dart Gold with brand-new seals (you can install the new seals yourself, they are still shrink-wrapped)
A brand new barracuda pump, and barracuda pump head. Never used, kept as a spare.
A full extra lighting system (that looks ratty now, could use some clean-up work and paint) that uses 12x 54w T5HO bulbs, and includes maybe 25-40 spare T5HO bulbs, many never used.
I think I've got 5-6 70w MH electronic ballasts a 250w electronic ballast, 2x400w old-style ballasts and various bulbs.
The slick new-ish Rio Polario Turbine Dual Action Programmable Pump and controller.
A laguna 2400 pump. (maybe 2, but I think I gave one of them away to somebody last year).
3x peristaltic medical dosing pumps, along with 5gal containers for 2-part solution or whatever.
A box of various power heads, korellia 4's, and pumps and random aquarium stuff.
A whole load of reef testing equipment, including pH probes and refractometer salinity measuring tool, along with EVERY useful test kit. Many of them only used 1-2 times.
An aqua-controller Jr and digital aquatics reefkeeper 2, and all probes and things.
200mg Ozone generator and ozone/ph controller combo unit.
Calcium reactor and 5lbs CO2 bottle.
Calcium reactor.

I know there is loads more stuff I'm forgetting that will also be included. You can feel free to hunt through my storage area and take anything you want that isn't a part for my racecars or motorcycles. lol

The EVERY single part of plumbing on this tank is made to come apart on unions and ball valves. For such complex plumbing, it's amazing to watch it all come apart in about 15-20mins, and go back together in maybe 30mins. And that's not a joke, I engineered it all around being able to be taken apart and re-assembled extremely easily. Cost about 2-3times as much to do it that way, but it sure is nice when you want to modify something or move the tank etc.

Since I want to sell everything as 1 big lot to save me time, I'm only looking to get back maybe 10-15% of the money I put into this setup. I'm going to throw a listing up on Craigslist as well, and just take the highest offer for anyone who can come pick it all up and haul it away themselves. Or, if you really want, I could take a day off work, borrow a pickup, take everything down and move it for you, but I would need to charge something like $500 to make it worth my time to do that.

Ultimately, I'm not selling the tank for money, so I would happily take a lowballer bid from somebody who is going to take it and enjoy the hell out of it as I did. What I don't want is to sell it to a newbee who will need to have there hand-held through the whole tank moving/setup/lighting controller programming/CA reactor setup/dosing setup/etc etc.

Who ever buys it will have my full help with any questions in getting the plumbing set back-up again, and if you're really scared of the plumbing, I will happily come over once you have the tank on the stand an in location, and setup all the plumbing for you. It really only takes about 30mins or so.

So, that's about it.
Feel free to low-ball me, I'm not going to be offended

For Sale
Best Offer.

-Luke

Shoot, you could buy it just to part-it-out. :) Likely make an easy 2-3x your money invested. I just don't have the time or desire to sell it all indivdually.

Oy, that sucks about the electrical. I've followed your lighting build and loved the effect of mounting the lighting off the water and using projector-style lenses instead of reflectors. Down the road I wanted to build something similar. Unfortunately even with a ridiculously low-ball offer, I couldn't afford it, so someone please buy this and set it up and make it rock!

Best of luck!

Cheers, Josh

Any bites on this yet?

Could the light system be moved to a different system fairly easily?

oh Luke, my soul hurts for your loss, but is also in exactly the same boat :)

Son has arrived, and check out my post - parting it out though - trying to afford child care!
